Augusta Tomorrow: Real Estate at the Heart of What’s Happening

Real estate is not just about market cycles or interest rates. It is about trajectory. It is about understanding where a city has been and where it is headed. The work happening now to strengthen downtown Augusta reflects something I have always believed: this city’s future is tied to connection.

Connection between neighborhoods.
Connection between river and street.
Connection between history and innovation.

Augusta has always had the ingredients—culture, architecture, natural beauty, medical leadership, and a strong sense of community. What Vision 2035 proposes is not a reinvention of Augusta’s identity, but a strengthening of it. A more walkable downtown. Expanded green spaces. A riverfront that invites daily life. A core that supports both residents and businesses.

I am especially encouraged to see continued investment in our downtown, including the movement of Meybohm Commercial into the former Banker’s First Development. That space, with its outdoor areas, fountains, and gathering places, represents exactly the kind of environment that fosters connection and activity.

Realtors should be at the heart of what’s happening in Augusta.

Meybohm Commercial is bringing a group of talented, driven professionals into that space, and their energy will contribute to the vibrancy of downtown. That matters. Because real estate professionals don’t just work in a city. They help shape it.

As someone who has worked out of the Meybohm flagship office in Augusta for decades, I believe deeply in the importance of maintaining a strong presence here. The flagship office is not simply a location. It represents history, relationships, and long-standing investment in this community. Augusta is not a satellite market. It is central to who we are.
